LCCOC is proud of its community service and of its many active members who give of their time so willingly to help both dogs and Baton Rouge area residents.  Below are some of the projects in which members are involved.

LIBRARY DEMONSTRATIONS:  We offer dog demonstrations at various local libraries, usually held in conjunction with the summer program for children.  This program is always fun, informative and a way for children to be introduced to the world of dogs, as well as dog obedience and agility training. These demonstrations are open to the public, but are specifically geared for children ages 2-12. Please contact the library for dates and times.

AKC EVENTS:  LCCOC provides local, AKC-sanctioned dog events promoting further interest and rewards for advanced training. You do not need to be an LCCOC member to participate, in fact, people come from all over the country to participate in our trials, which can last for up to 3 days.  Check the "TRIAL PREMIUMS" page on the menu bar link above.

PUBLIC DEMONSTRATIONS:  Over the years, LCCOC members have responded to several calls for dog demos in Obedience and Agility by such groups as the B.R. State Fair, BREC, LSU Vet School and others.  These demonstrations help acquaint our community with opportunities that exist for their dogs to participate in performance sports.  People ask a lot of questions, love to pet the dogs, and LCCOC provides handouts.
